Motif Knitting – Terms of Service

The following document outlines the terms of use of the Motif Knitting website and related services operated by Knitted for You, Lund, Sweden (“Knitted for You”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
Before using any of our services, please read and understand these terms.
Terms of Service
Basically,
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the website at motif.knittedforyou.com, using the Motif Design Tool, purchasing or downloading any motif or pattern, or subscribing to Knitted for You Plus, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.
By using Motif Knitting, you agree to all these terms. If not, please don’t use the site.
2. Description of Service
Motif Knitting is an online platform that enables knitters and designers to create, customize, and share knitting motifs and patterns. Services include access to the Motif Design Tool, the Motif Collection, and downloadable or interactive pattern content. We also offer optional subscriptions and digital product purchases. Knitted for You may, at any time, modify or discontinue parts of the Service for maintenance, updates, or business reasons.
We provide tools for creating and customizing knitting motifs, patterns, and collections. Sometimes the service may be temporarily unavailable.
3. Registration and Account
To access all features, you must register an account with accurate information and maintain its security. You are responsible for all activities under your account. Services are available to individuals aged 18 or older, or 14+ with parental consent. Accounts may not be used for illegal or unauthorized purposes, nor shared with others.
Create your own account, keep your password safe, and be honest about who you are.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to use Motif Knitting to: (a) harass, abuse, or impersonate others; (b) post illegal, defamatory, or obscene content; (c) infringe copyright or other rights; (d) send spam; (e) use bots or scrapers; (f) artificially manipulate votes, views, or ratings; or (g) advertise or sell products without permission. Knitted for You reserves the right to remove any content or account that breaches these terms.
Be respectful, responsible, and creative. Don’t spam or steal content. Play nice.
5. User Content and License
By uploading motifs, patterns, or designs, you retain ownership of your content. You grant Knitted for You a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and process your content for operating the platform. You can delete your motifs or account at any time, and the license ends when content is removed—except for motifs already used in public posts or ongoing knitting projects.
You keep full rights to your motifs. We only use them to show and store them on the site.
6. Digital Products and Subscriptions
Digital purchases (motifs, patterns, or subscriptions) are non-refundable once delivery starts, according to EU consumer law on digital content. You explicitly consent to waive your right of withdrawal when downloading or accessing purchased content. Subscriptions renew automatically via Stripe Billing unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel at any time through your user account or Stripe Customer Portal.
You can buy motifs or subscribe anytime. Once you download digital content, refunds aren’t possible except for technical issues. You can cancel subscriptions any time.
7. Fair Use Policy
Motif Knitting is designed for individual creative use. While there is no fixed limit, we expect fair use (around 100 motifs per user). Excessive automated or commercial use may result in restrictions or suspension. Companies or publishers should contact us for separate agreements.
The platform is for creative individuals. Heavy or automated use may be limited.
8. Removal and Termination
You may remove your motifs or close your account at any time. Knitted for You may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform. Upon termination, all personal data and motifs will be deleted except where legally required to retain records.
You can close your account whenever you like. We may close accounts that break the rules.
9. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Knitted for You respects intellectual property. If you believe your rights have been infringed, contact info@knittedforyou.com with details of the infringement. We will promptly investigate and, if necessary, remove or restrict access to the content.
We respect copyrights. If someone misuses your work, email us and we’ll help.
10. Payments and Taxes
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Prices include Swedish VAT unless otherwise stated. For EU buyers, VAT is calculated via Stripe Tax under the EU OSS scheme. We do not store or handle payment card details ourselves.
Payments go through Stripe — safe, transparent, and VAT-compliant.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Knitted for You AB shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or profits, resulting from the use or inability to use the Service. We provide the Service “as is,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Always keep your own backup of designs.
We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but can’t be liable for losses if something goes wrong.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
Knitted for You AB complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We work with trusted processors like Stripe and secure hosting providers under signed data processing agreements.

13. Trademarks and Branding
Knitted for You™, Motif Knitting™, and related logos and graphics are trademarks of Knitted for You AB. They may not be used without our written permission.
Please don’t use our brand or logos without permission.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll post a notice on the website. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
If we change these terms, we’ll let you know. Keep using the site = you agree.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall be resolved by Swedish courts, with the District Court of Lund as the first instance.
Swedish law applies, and disputes go to a Swedish court.
